Bids and Tenders
Michael Davis produces bids as a technical solution, a commercial solution and a selling document, all rolled into one. He sees the role of Bid Manager as project manager of the Bid, and the Bid comprising three parallel processes:
- the spine of the Bid is the scoping of the Technical Solution led by the technical specialists, leading to the planning of the solution including a costed schedule.
- the outputs of the spine are invested in the creation of the Proposal documents under the Proposal Manager including the Executive Summary, Commercial Document with pricing, Technical Document and Management Document.
- the third process is overall project management of the Bid. Michael is the author of a Best Practice Bidding Process that distils his extensive knowledge of bidding in blue-chip firms on very large projects.
Michael's expertise is grounded in furnishing large, complex engineering and manufacturing bids to the demanding standards of the Ministry of Defence for systems comprising both software and hardware. He ensures that the Proposal is written and illustrated to appeal to all shades of thinking.
